Parade Organizers are encouraging people to park at the Lake Forest train station (downtown) and take the train to Lake Bluff.

It will be very busy. If you want to park in Lake Bluff, you are encouraged to get there before 8 am. Avoid Rte. 176 to get into Lake Bluff. They anticipate it will be backed up and slow.
St. James 7/4 Parade Details!
Thank you for being part of this wonderful enterprise to put St. James into the community, as a 4th of July float in the Lake Bluff Parade, to tell the story about ProjectFresh and the ministry of providing produce to our neighbors through partner food pantries. We are focusing on our drop off at church on Saturday, July 11 from 10am-Noon. The flyers provide all the details.
Please invite others to help by walking, putting up posters, and sharing reminders about our drop off dates with friends and on social media. Our goal of receiving 1776 bags of produce on July 11 is ambitious. Let’s GET THE WORD OUT AND SEE THE HOLY SPIRIT MOVE THROUGH OTHERS!
Parade walkers -
Please wear yellow, Gods Work. Our Hands tee shirts or July 4 red/white/blue clothing. Dress for the weather - it should be hot, we may get some rain. Wear good walking shoes or sneakers and consider a hat or visor. There are colorful green bandanas to wear and also patriotic looking beaded necklaces and pins (these will be brought to the parade location Saturday morning).
We’ll have chilled water bottles & snacks available on the float for walkers.
On 7/4, please meet at 9:00 am at our parade location # 39. Parade entries will be lined up in numeric order on E Center Ave.
Parade kicks off promptly at 10:00am, passes a viewing stand with judges, and then proceeds for approximately 1.5 miles. If it gets too hot for someone, they can ride in the truck for a time. Hopefully, most walkers will walk the entire route. Several people can help on the truck by passing items to walkers. It’s possible to take a break for a time in the truck.
We will rotate people in/out of various positions such as: carrying the pole banner, pushing shopping carts, working from the truck to handout items, and passing out items en route.
Adult walkers will pass out grocery bags or flyers to adults and greet people along the parade route with a message like these:
“Join us in providing fresh produce to local food pantries. Drop off at St. James Church in Lake Forest on July 11!”
Or
“Let’s unite around healthy food for our neighbors!”
Children and youth will pass out candy, maximum two pieces per child, along the parade route and say one of the following:
“Happy 4th!”
“Help us provide fresh produce!”
“Please share fresh fruits and vegetables with others!”
Only adults will walk near the truck and flatbed to pick up and replenish bags, flyers, candy or bottled water - and will distribute to those who need items.
