We are blessed to be hosting a Dual Narrative Workshop by InterAct on Tuesday, August 4, at 12:30 pm. There will be a conversation between an Israeli and a Palestinian on how they have cultivated peace in their relationship across differences. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
This is a one-time event and will not be recorded. You can join us at St. James for a watch party or join the webinar online (registration required).
Prepare for the August 4 Dual Narrative Workshop sponsored by St. James Lutheran Church!
Who is offering this?
St. James is hosting the workshop, which is provided to us by Interact International, a non-profit NGO working on transforming conflict through human connection.
What is the workshop about?
In this session, two speakers in Israel will intimately share their personal experiences during the past three years of ongoing war. Through a dual narrative approach, those attending the workshop will gain greater insight into their experience.
How can I participate?
-
In person at St. James. Please arrive by 12:15 pm on August 4 to gather in the Common Room to watch the Zoom together. Please take seats promptly and quietly. Refreshments will be available afterward!
-
Register for the Zoom link to watch from home or work at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_B6iY6E56TliLdePIw14Mqw
How long is the program?
The workshop will run from 12:30-1:30pm, followed by a half hour for facilitated questions and answers.
If I haven’t attended one of the pop-up learning opportunities already offered, can I attend the 8/4 workshop?
Absolutely! The learning opportunities were informal conversations. The August 4 workshop is the featured event!
How can I share a question I might have for the workshop presenters?
Please provide questions that are direct and concise. They must be written down or provided via Zoom chat during the Zoom presentation. Similar questions or themes may be combined into a joint question by the facilitator when addressing the presenters. Recognizing time limitations, it may not be possible to address all questions. St. James is developing a follow-up program or small group opportunity around the topic of Dual Narrative.
Who should I contact to share my question(s) in advance, to discuss ideas surrounding this topic, or to express interest in receiving future program information?
Please email office@stjameslutheran.org.
Will the workshop be recorded?
No. Due to safety concerns for the presenters, the workshop will not be recorded, and photographs may not be taken of the Zoom.
InterAct International is a nonprofit NGO that uses storytelling, art, and technology to help people connect across war‑torn divides—political, cultural, ethnic, religious, geographic, and socio‑economic. Founded as the nonprofit arm of MEJDI Tours, the social‑awareness travel company created by Muslim Palestinian Aziz Abu Sarah and Jewish American Scott Cooper, Interact International continues their mission of transforming conflict through human connection. In 2024, Israeli peace activist Maoz Inon joined the leadership; both he and Aziz lost loved ones to the Israeli‑Palestinian conflict and chose to turn their grief into a shared call for peace. Together, through their book Peace Is Possible, they have traveled the world telling their intertwined stories, reflecting on the lessons of the past, confronting the realities of the present, and offering a hopeful vision for the future—anchoring Interact International’s belief that empathy and narrative can bridge even the deepest divides.
